The oil campaign indicates the olive harvest period, which in Emilia Romagna generally begins in October. This phase is essential to determine the volume and quality of the oil that will be produced, since the olives must be harvested at the right time of ripeness to guarantee the oil's excellent quality.
Activities in the olive groves and mills
During the oil campaign, the days in the fields are long and hectic. Olive growers carefully monitor the ripening of the olives, deciding on the perfect time for harvesting. In the mills, machines work incessantly to mill the olives within hours of harvesting and extract the oil, preserving its aromas and properties.
Forecast for the 2024 oil year

The harvest at Oleificio Sapigni will begin around 10 October. With no adverse weather events and meticulous care of the olive groves, the olives on our farm will be beautiful and abundant, heralding an oil of excellent quality.

Buying new oil directly from the producer
During the campaign, consumers have the unique opportunity to purchase new oil, fresh from the mill, directly from our oil mill in Villa Verucchio di Rimini, in the sales outlet open to the public all year round. On our online shop, availability of the new oil is scheduled for late October or early November.
